Hiya! my name is Sam I am from Glasgow originally although i've lived all over . I've settled now in the amazing Govanhill area of Glasgow's southside where i both live and have my studio nearby.
I started Pure Mettle Jewellery just under 6 years ago and I have been self employed for 2 of these years as well as being registered as a limited company.
I'm so incredibly greatful to be able to do that job i love ! I am simply a jewellery obsessive. i love to sparkle and feel powerful which i feel PMJ jewellery really helps ya feel.
We have 3 main design inspirations which include Architecture / which includes Gothic and Brutalist / my minimal pieces are inspired by the latter and the big angular pieces are inspired by the former. Geometry is the Design style that will be he most apparent in my work being a lover of triangles and the strength they exude.
I strive to make jewellery that lasts. All silver is recycled - i buy in some and i recycle the rest during the casting process (check out my cast collection)

The enviroment is extremely important to us and i make sure every measure is taken to make as tiny a footprint on our pretty planet as possible.

We believe in Slow fashion. i want folk to wear their Pure Mettle Jewellery forever thats why every piece is made with super solid sterling silver or gold. nothing flimsy here!
The company up until recently only consisted of myself but Ive now taken on an intern and i have to say i'm loving the company at work! Ale is an increadibly awesome jeweller in his own right. He studied at GSA and knows his way about silver. he will be helping me over the festive period and we have some grand plans for PMJ in 2022.
